Every time we’ve been able to stay at a Ritz Carlton, I have always loved the bathrooms. They make me feel so elegant. I always said when we built our next house, that I wanted to have a glamorous bathroom like the Ritz. I started by doing venetian plaster on the walls, just in pure white. I used Carrera marble on all the floors and counter tops.

I love mirrored furniture and I enjoy using mirrors on doors that I do not want to see through. The door in this photo actually leads to a large walk-in shower. The mirrored wooden door is on top of the glass shower door. The surrounding on the tub is something we make at the studio. The Selznick vanity is also something we make. Here is it gilded in silver leaf with antique mirror on it. I think one of my favorite things about this my master bathroom is the antique doors that you see on either side of the window.

I knew fabric would not hold up well in a room with lots of steam. I found these great french antique doors at an antique shop in New Orleans and decided to paint them in a grey Toscana finish and hang them on a track to slide back and forth. To add the final touches, I accessorized with monogrammed towels, antique silver and wonderful bath salts from France.
