In the middle of the 20th Century, furniture design was going through major changes. Innovative furniture designers like Le Corbusier were experimenting with metal , glass and plastic. These new innovative designs were revolutionizing modern furniture.
There has been a resurgence of collecting furniture from the 1930’s-1960’s. Consequently acrylic furniture is back with a whole new audience of would be collectors.
I have enjoyed taking traditional designs and making them into acrylic. Here is an example of our Gloria bench. A traditional leg design, made into acrylic and upholstered in camel hair. I have this bench at the foot of my 18th Century designed canopy bed. The juxtaposition of styles and periods is what makes interior design so interesting.
I am introducing 3 new acrylic pieces this fall and will let you see them as soon as they are available.
